It is quite common to divide the Ten Commandments into two unequal groups, one a series of four religious commandments and the other a series of six moral or ethical injunctions. The statement of Jesus in Matthew 22:37–40 gives a considerable degree of credence to such a division, and there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
